Poston Communications, LLC announces the addition of two senior-level media relations professionals. Jonathan Breed leads the firm’s Public Affairs division, which focuses on issue advocacy through coalition building, communications and grassroots engagement, and advises some of the firm’s largest clients on their media relations efforts. John Manasso oversees several account teams, and supports the public relations and content efforts of the firm’s professional services clients. Breed and Manasso are both senior account supervisors in Poston Communication’s Atlanta office.
Breed brings nearly a decade of communications, public affairs and leadership experience to his clients. Prior to joining, he worked in Washington, D.C. at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), where he managed state and federal advocacy and led the design and strategic implementation of government affairs and public affairs programs. Prior to NEI, he worked on high-profile political campaigns, giving him a unique perspective on public affairs matters. At Poston Communications, Breed leads his account teams in achieving strategic media results for some of the firm’s largest clients.
Breed earned his undergraduate degree in political science from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
In a journalistic career that spanned more than two decades, John reported on the National Football League, the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association franchises for a variety of media organizations, including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, NHL.com and FoxSports.com, specializing in unique stories that others failed to find. This broad experience as a reporter gives him a unique perspective in his media relations efforts for his clients. His extensive knowledge about how the media operates and his keen sense of what is newsworthy provides him with the skills to develop strategic and efficient media pitches on behalf of his clients. At Poston Communications, Manasso works closely with professional services companies to strategically place them in targeted news media and provide them with top-level content.
Manasso earned his undergraduate degree in print journalism and history from American University in Washington, D.C.
