Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta kicked off the Atlanta engagement of Disney’s The Little Mermaid this past Friday featuring a special check presentation prior to the start of the show. The donation, presented by members of the first-class touring musical, was given to Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.
The contribution was a result of the previous ticket sales from the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2016/2017 season featured musical, Disney’s The Little Mermaid. For every ticket sold during pre-season, $5 was donated to benefit the Atlanta-based nonprofit organization.
Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta proudly announced that they raised a total of $11,310 for the local nonprofit organization. This donation will help the charity fund year-round programs for Bert’s Big Adventure, such as the Reunion Adventures, the Fairy Godparent program and the 2017 annual trip to Walt Disney World®.
“We’ve been a proud supporter of Bert’s Big Adventure for the last six years, donating more than $40,000 since our start,” said Russ Belin, vice president of Broadway in Atlanta. “It’s amazing to see what this program offers our community, and it’s important for us to be a part of something so impactful – the families’ reactions are truly the best reward!”
