Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG), a U.S. top 20 public accounting and advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Alpa Patel has been accepted to the 2016-17 Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute (PALI) class at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. Alpa has been with DHG for 19 years and serves as a tax partner in the firm’s Atlanta office.
PALI represents a collaboration between the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and the United Way of Greater Atlanta. These organizations have come together to educate financial, legal and accounting professionals on how to better incorporate charitable planning into their professional practices.
“I am excited to join the newest PALI class and take part in this unique leadership development opportunity,” says Alpa. “I look forward to better understanding philanthropies’ needs and matching those needs with my client’s charitable planning goals.”
Alpa’s expertise spans several financial areas, including tax planning, business consultation, and transaction guidance, as well as tax research and compliance for corporations, partnerships, limited-liability entities, and individuals with high net worth. Her vast industry knowledge includes manufacturing and distribution, construction, agribusiness, service providers and insurance underwriters, and she serves clients ranging in size from private start-ups to large public companies. Alpa is also involved in several key DHG programs, including the firm’s Women Forward initiative, Inclusion and Diversity Council and the Emerging Leaders Academy.
