Mary Beth Marchione
Porter Keadle Moore (PKM) Systems Manager Mary Beth Marchione has earned a new certification that further strengthens the accounting firm’s ability to help clients manage the ongoing risk of data breaches and other cyber threats. Marchione now holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) designation – an objective, globally-recognized standard of excellence.
The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC)?, grants the certification. The nonprofit is dedicated to advancing the information security field. Marchione is the third member of the PKM team to hold a CISSP. Morris and Systems Senior Manager Jim Rumph earned the certification earlier this year.
CISSP candidates must prove their competence in eight critical areas, including:
* Security and Risk Management
* Asset Security
* Security Engineering
* Communications and Network Security
* Identity and Access Management
* Security Assessment and Testing
* Security Operations
* Software Development Security
Marchione serves some of the firm’s largest financial institution clients as an outsourced IT auditor and security consultant. She has also worked with large SEC-registered enterprises in a variety of industries; she provides assurance and consulting services, including SOC reports and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, in a range of complex IT environments.
She is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, ISACA (The Information Systems Audit and Control Association) and The National Society of Leadership and Success.
