8/16/16

The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), and the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG Ed) today announced that it will be hosting its 8th Annual Techie 5|10K Walk and Run on Saturday, October 1st.

The race will take place in the Technology Park area between the cities of Peachtree Corners and Norcross, located at 130 Technology Pkwy, Gwinnett, GA 30092.

Each year, over 600 runners and teams from across the metro Atlanta area participate in The Techie 5|10K Walk and Run which is presented by TAG and race sponsors, Pega and SPI.

"This is a unique opportunity for Georgia's technology companies to become more directly involved with their community and each other. It's about strengthening the camaraderie within our own businesses as well as within Georgia's technology sector," said Tino Mantella, President and CEO of TAG.

The event benefits the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed), a non-profit which promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education in Georgia through web challenges, student internships, scholarships and more. It is predicted that some211,000 STEM-related jobs will need to be filled in Georgia by 2018 and TAG-Ed is dedicated to helping the state prepare for these jobs. The Annual Techie 5|10K Walk and Run are just two of the many events that help support these efforts.
