Steve Schrope Joins CBRE as Project Management Director

CBRE is pleased to announce Steve Schrope has joined CBRE, serving as Project Management Director. In his new role, Mr. Schrope will focus on building CBRE’s hospitality project management business in the Southeast and eventually across the country.Mr. Schrope isbased at CBRE’s Atlanta office.

“Steve has tremendous hospitality project management experience, both in ground-up hotel development and renovations,” said Glenn Jardine, Executive Managing Director, CBRE|Heery. “With his expertise and relationships across the country, Steve will be extremely valuable in growing CBRE’s PJM business in the hospitality sector. The entire team understands and supports Steve’s vision, and we are thrilled to be working with such a collaborative partner.”

Most recently, Mr. Schrope worked as Vice President for JLL, where he led the hospitality project management business for the Southeast. During his tenure, he worked on such projects as the multi-phase renovation of the 2,000-room Orlando World Center Marriott in Florida. He also completed the full renovation and hurricane rebuild of the 200-key Bakers Cay Resort, a Curio Collection Hotel, in Key Largo, Fla.

Prior to JLL, Mr. Schrope was Director of Design and Construction for Atlanta-based Legacy Ventures. There, he worked on hospitality projects that transformed downtown Atlanta’s tourism and convention business, including opening the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown and the conversion of the Glenn Hotel. He also led the buildout of top downtown Atlanta restaurants including STATS and Der Biergarten, which provided much-needed amenities for the millions of visitors to the city’s core.

Mr. Schrope has a Master of City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech and a Master of Architecture from Tulane University. Projects he’s worked on have received numerous recognitions, including the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation’s “Excellence in Rehabilitation” award for the Glenn Hotel. Hilton Worldwide also named one of his projects, the Embassy Suites Chattanooga, as “Embassy Suites Hotel of the Year.”
