Three Baker Donelson Attorneys Elected to Board of Directors

Mark A. Baugh, David Gevertz and Mary Ann Jackson have been elected to Baker Donelson's board of directors by the Firm's shareholders.

Mr. Baugh is chair of the Firm's Diversity Committee and a shareholder in Baker Donelson's Nashville office, where he concentrates his practice in litigation and representing employers in employment-related issues. He represents and advises local, regional and national clients in several states in employment-related disputes and investigations. Mr. Baugh has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® since 2018 and was recently recognized by BTI Consulting Group in the 2020 Client Service All-Stars list for delivering superior client service. For more than 10 years, Mr. Baugh has led Baker Donelson's Diversity Committee, which is focused on creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and inclusive of all Firm employees. Under Mr. Baugh's leadership, the Firm has been recognized for its diversity and inclusion efforts by the Human Rights Campaign, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and Vault, Inc. and recently achieved Mansfield Certification Status.

A shareholder in Baker Donelson's Atlanta office, Mr. Gevertz is a member of Firm's Labor & Employment Group. He tries employment discrimination, wage and hour, non-compete, whistleblowing, and trade secret cases to juries throughout the country. He also guides companies through sensitive internal and government investigations, employee thefts and mass layoffs. Since 2009, Mr. Gevertz has been recognized by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers as a top Labor & Employment lawyer in Georgia. He has also been listed in Georgia Super Lawyers since 2009 and in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2014. Mr. Gevertz previously served as the vice chair of Baker Donelson's Labor & Employment Group and as the Firm's Managing Director of Advocacy. He has served on the boards of directors for the Atlanta Bar Association's Labor and Employment section, as well as the Covenant House of Georgia and the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.

Ms. Jackson, a shareholder in the Firm's Memphis office and chair of Baker Donelson's Corporate Finance and Securities Group, has extensive experience in advising private companies. She represents clients in strategic transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private securities offerings and investments, and forming and structuring business organizations such as limited liability companies, partnerships and joint ventures. Ms. Jackson also counsels clients on day-to-day business matters such as shareholder agreements, executive employment agreements, confidentiality agreements and general business contracts. She has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® since 2010 and was recently named the Best Lawyers' 2020 Memphis Tax Law "Lawyer of the Year." Ms. Jackson is a member of the Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee and American Bar Associations and of the Association of Women Attorneys. She currently serves on the board of directors for the United Way of the Mid-South.
