Real estate investment firm Nicol Investment Company today announced the promotion of two key leaders and the addition of two new team members.

The announcement comes as Nicol is experiencing outstanding growth across its asset classes, including multifamily, senior housing, self-storage, retail and short-term rentals (STR). The strategic appointments will play a key role in supporting the company’s rapidly expanding portfolio.

Kyle Burkett has been promoted to Managing Director of Operations. He joined the Nicol team in 2017. Burkett manages the performance of multifamily, senior housing, self-storage, retail and STR investments. He works directly with the executive team to define the company’s growth strategy and directs all property operations, capital expenditure and renovation/redevelopment programs.

Lauren Clairmont has been named the Managing Director of Accounting & Administration. She is responsible for the accounting, financial planning and the portfolio management functions of the company and the family office. She is also responsible for managing the insurance programs for all assets and for overseeing human resource functions. Clairmont joined Nicol Investment Company in 2005.

Sam Boroughs as been named Managing Director of Finance, overseeing the financial reporting on all Nicol properties, including lender reporting requirements and compiling and analyzing financials on a macro level. He is also responsible for managing the relationships with our financial institutions and overseeing all acquisition and disposition activities.

Nicol hired Kris Wolfington as the Managing Director of Construction Services. He is responsible for the new construction process across all product types. This includes projects both developed and managed within Nicol's portfolio as well as oversight and management of projects as a development partner.
