Colony Square Welcomes Sunnies, Lush Nail Bar and American Barber Shop to Midtown

11/16/20

American Barber Shop will open on Nov. 16 and provide free haircuts to the first 20 customers

North American Properties (NAP) announced today the opening of American Barber Shop at Colony Square and two new additions to its retail tenant mix: Lush Nail Bar and Sunnies, a lifestyle brand that sells designer sunglasses. The barber shop, nail salon and eyewear retailer further NAP’s plan of bringing best-in-class, service-driven brands to the Midtown mixed-use community.

"Midtown continues to be one of the hottest markets in the country, with hundreds of new apartments and condos added in just the last year," said Brooke Massey, retail leasing associate at NAP. "Recognizing the area's tremendous growth and Colony Square's central Main and Main location, we are targeting the best brands in each category and curating a mix of service uses that will resonate with the thousands of urbanites who live and work within walking distance."

To celebrate its opening, American Barber will offer complimentary haircuts to its first 20 customers. The barber shop is located at the back of Building 400 near Colony Square’s full-service Concierge desk and The Lawn. American Barber’s hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Four barbers will be available daily for services, and while appointments are preferred, walk-ins will be accepted. All chairs are spaced six to eight feet apart, a practice that was in place prior to COVID-19. Other safety measures include the requirement of all staff and customers to wear a mask, hand sanitizer is placed throughout the shop, and the team is equipped to do temperature checks. Online appointments can be made at the Colony Square location here.

Sunnies, a family owned sunglasses retailer offering high-end designer and lifestyle sunglass brands at a competitive price point, will open a 450-square-foot flagship location at Colony Square in Spring 2021, marking its second brick-and-mortar location in the country. Founded by Joseph Sikora and his father Mitch, Sunnies is an independent seller of luxury labels ranging from Tom Ford to Kate Spade to KREWE to Gucci to Saint Laurent and more. The shop at Colony Square fronts The Plaza, a newly opened 10,000-square-foot greenspace, and will offer a unique shopping experience.

“At Sunnies, we’ve redesigned the retail experience to allow browsers an opportunity to engage with our products through in-store try-on sessions. Our main priority is for guests to have fun without feeling pressured into making a purchase,” said Sophie Gramme, director of operations at Sunnies. “We chose Colony Square for this new location based on the North American Properties team’s ability to create a sense of community through experiences, which lends itself really well to our business model.”

Lush Nail Bar is slated to open the nail salon at Colony Square in Spring 2021, offering services such as manicures, pedicures, microblading and more. This will be the second Lush franchise location in Atlanta for owner Sang Yoon, and it will be situated next to American Barber.

“Colony Square’s location in the heart of the city is what really attracted us to expand our business here,” said Yoon. “Workers, guests and residents will now have convenient access to our luxurious services, and we look forward to serving the Midtown community.”

This summer, Colony Square began welcoming office tenants to the newly completed Building 300, the office tower that will soon be home to Whole Foods’ South regional headquarters. Colony Square also recently celebrated the opening of AYA Medical Spa, Brown Bag Seafood Co. and the completion of Spaces’ expansion and The Plaza. Building 500, the office tower which will be fully occupied by international law firm Jones Day, is slated for completion next summer. By 2021, Colony Square will have nearly one million square feet of office space, as well as an incredible retail and dining experience featuring luxury dine-in movie theater IPIC, 5Church, Establishment, Chick-fil-A, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Holeman and Finch Public House, Sukoshi, Rumi’s Kitchen, King of Pops and Politan Row at Colony Square, the 20,000-square-foot food hall.
