Opening Nov. 6, luxury lifestyle brand introduces new concept for the holidays

This holiday season, renowned Atlanta-based design duo Sid & Ann Mashburn will debut the lifestyle brand’s first-ever Atlanta pop-up concept at Avalon, the premier mixed-use community and destination in Alpharetta developed and managed by North American Properties (NAP). Opening on Nov. 6th, just in time for holiday shopping along the Boulevard, the Sid & Ann Mashburn Pop-Up Shop joins Avalon’s best-in-class lineup of national retail brands, including Apple, Peloton and lululemon.

Sid and Ann are known throughout the retail industry, with VOGUE calling Ann Mashburn “the very best of everything in one place” and both GQ and Esquire naming Sid Mashburn “the best men’s store in America.” The holiday shop will pop-up in a 4,000-square-foot space near Sephora and Cafe Intermezzo. The shop will feature the best of Sid and Ann’s designed-and-produced clothing, offering a merchandise mix that includes their favorite classic, iconic and hard-to-find pieces. Sid and Ann will spend time in the shop each week, offering their design and style insight to Avalon’s shoppers.

“This is the first time we’ve ever opened a space in Atlanta outside of our West Midtown Flagship, so this is a big deal for us. We’ve been longtime admirers of Avalon and the special sense of community that’s been built there, and we are excited to be part of that energy this holiday season.” – Sid & Ann.

In addition to their fashion acumen, the Mashburns are well known for their ability to flawlessly combine their men’s and women’s stores in spaces as welcoming as they are inspiring, with their signature mix of modern and classic. These elements will be reflected in the pop-up through vintage Turkish rugs, mood boards, a ping-pong table, vinyl records playing, and cold drinks for customers offered by friendly staff. The shop will be open to the public through the end of the year.

The duo first made their mark in Atlanta in 2007 with the opening of Sid Mashburn in the Westside Provisions District in West Midtown. In 2010, they introduced Ann Mashburn, the brand’s womenswear line. Today, the Atlanta Flagship is one of four connected men’s and women’s shops across the country, including Dallas, Houston & Georgetown, along with a standalone men’s shop in Los Angeles.

As one of the South’s top retail destinations, Avalon’s activated, open-air mixed-use environment provides a platform for retailers to thrive in a post-COVID world, and the leasing team has continued to experience strong leasing momentum throughout the pandemic. Across NAP’s portfolio of mixed-use projects, the team has seen great success in deploying pop-up retail strategies that create compelling and fresh experiences for guests. As part of this strategy, NAP is launching the inaugural Holiday Market at Avalon, a six-week pop-up market featuring a one-of-a-kind mix of local makers and merchants.

“At Avalon, we’ve curated a retail experience unlike anything in the region, but we’re always looking for opportunities to introduce something new that we know will resonate with the Alpharetta community,” said Adam Schwegman, partner and senior vice president of leasing at NAP. “Sid & Ann’s Pop-Up Shop is the perfect complement to our existing lineup of best-in-class brands, and will undoubtedly enhance holiday shopping at Avalon this year.”

Also opening soon along the Boulevard is South African craft cocktail and beef jerky restaurant, Biltong Bar, fast-casual eatery gusto!, global fitness company Peloton and national retailer Tempur-Pedic.

Earlier this year, Avalon welcomed specialty men’s apparel and lifestyle brand Onward Reserve, women’s fashion and styling company EVEREVE, multinational beauty brand Sephora, luxury timepiece and watch brand MAYORS, and High Country Outfitters, a local, family-owned outdoor gear and clothing pop-up shop featuring the retailer’s most popular merchandise and top brands such as Patagonia, YETI and Big Green Egg.

NAP’s COVID-response program, Better Together, continues to create a comfortable environment for the community to come together at Avalon. As part of the effort, NAP established a number of safety measures that include increasing sanitation procedures in all common areas and on high touch surfaces; turning sidewalks into one-way streets to cut down on pedestrian interactions; and posting signage and decals throughout the property to reinforce best practices.
