Rachel Stanley

The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, an advocacy organization dedicated to creating safe, inclusive and thriving spaces for people to ride, walk and roll in Atlanta, has named Rachel Stanley as senior development manager.

In this capacity, Stanley will be responsible for developing and overseeing the Coalition’s fundraising goals.

“We’re excited to welcome Rachel to our energetic and dedicated team,” says Rebecca Serna, executive director of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition. “Her enthusiasm and commitment to social good aligns with our mission and guiding principles, particularly those that pertain to equity and racial justice. Rachel will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals as we continue implementing a new strategic direction that will take us beyond bikes to focus on creating a more livable, inclusive Atlanta.”

Funding for this transformative position is provided by Power to Grow, a multi-year investment in fundraising leadership from Mailchimp.

“We've been proud partners with the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition since 2013 because we want to see an Atlanta where everyone moves safely, easily and sustainably through the city,” says Josh Penny, corporate citizenship manager of Mailchimp. “This investment in fundraising will help them reach and engage the many other people and institutions who also believe in that vision.”

Prior to joining Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Stanley served as grants manager of the Latin American Association where she wrote, managed and stewarded five- and six-figure grants from foundations, government agencies and corporations to support a range of initiatives, including social service and youth mentoring programs. Stanley also worked previously in nonprofit development roles at the Southern Center for Human Rights, the Center for Civic Innovation and the Global Village Project.

Stanley holds a master's degree in public policy from Georgia State University's Andrew Young School of Policy Studies and a bachelor's degree in international studies from Elon University. In 2019, she was a High Potential Diverse Leader through the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, and a Black-Jewish Project Understanding participant with the American Jewish Committee. Additionally, she was a 2017-2018 YWCA Georgia Women's Policy Institute member, and in 2017, she was a Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Atlanta 30 Under 30 awardee. Outside of work, Stanley volunteers her time with several community organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Junior League of Atlanta and Planned Parenthood Southeast.
