Cheba Hut Brings Marijuana-themed Sandwiches, More to Midtown Atlanta

9/21/20

The West Coast fast-casual concept rolls out first of three Georgia shops on Oct. 5

The city’s brand-new cannabis-inspired sub shop is guaranteed to satisfy all your taste buds.

Cheba Hut’s menu is anchored by delicious toasted sandwiches, like it’s trademark White Widow which is piled high with grilled chicken breast; smothered in signature ranch dressing; and topped with mushrooms, bacon and provolone cheese.

In addition to mouthwatering subs, offerings include munchies, sweet treats, salads and plenty of signature cocktails. Furthermore, each Cheba Hut shop features its own “secret stash” - a collection of unique menu items inspired by each restaurant’s locale. In Atlanta, customers can go for the A-Train, a vegetarian option brimming with portobello mushrooms, garlic butter, marinara sauce, extra provolone cheese, green peppers, onions, black olives, ranch dressing and Cheba Shake, a proprietary blend of spices.

Cheba Hut prides itself on a home-grown approach to food: all dips, sauces, marinades and spice blends are made in-house; desserts are prepared from scratch daily; they never use pre-shredded or pre-sliced vegetables, meats and cheeses; and they source their proprietary Parisian bread, which is hand-rolled and scored, from a bakery that has been in business for over 50 years.

According to Justin Beatty, an Atlanta hospitality veteran, and Josh Burdick, a local entertainment lawyer, that’s the reason the two lifelong friends brought Cheba Hut to Georgia.

“Recipes and ingredients are the driving force behind all food, regardless if you’re talking about fine dining or quick casual,” says Beatty, the shop’s general manager and co-owner. “There’s a reason Cheba Hut has a cult-like following across the country - the menu is composed of craveable, high-quality food that doesn’t break the bank -- you won’t find a sandwich for our price with better ingredients.”

The 2,400-square foot restaurant and 800-square-foot outside patio are located directly below Signature West Midtown. The space’s design reflects the neighborhood’s vibe and pays tribute to the city’s Hollywood of the South status with a large custom mural from well-known Atlanta artist Greg Mike’s ABV Gallery and Agency. Additionally, the space was designed so it can be configured as a live entertainment venue, with plans to host musical acts in the future.

“This is a different kind of sandwich shop, and we don’t believe it’s hyperbolic to say it will change your life,” says Burdick, co-owner of Atlanta’s Cheba Hut. “From the service and attitudes behind the cash register to the design to the curated music playlists; Cheba Hut provides a unique experience and will be the last sandwich shop you ever want to visit.”

Finally, in response to COVID-19, Cheba Hut is taking a number of steps to ensure dine-in guests’ safety. The restaurant is installing high tech antiviral and antibacterial air filtration systems. Cheba Hut is also implementing CDC guidelines for restaurants and bars, while also incorporating its own operational policies, including adjusting capacity to accommodate social distancing, reducing human contact between employees and guests and offering a walk-up to-go window for take-out services. Additionally, Cheba Hut always offers delivery through its app, where customers can earn rewards on all orders, as well as via DoorDash.

Cheba Hut is located at 800 Marietta St NW Suite A, and its hours of operation are 10 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
