Shannon Hassler
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Shannon Hassler takes a new position as a Principal Consultant for Yardstick Management where she will lead its executive search practice and serve as a key member of the team’s diversity, equity, and inclusion practice. Since 2012, Yardstick Management has been recognized globally as a leading black-owned consulting firm, acting as a strategic partner for Fortune 500 corporations to charter schools and not-for-profit organizations.
Previously working for two of the largest executive search firms in the world, Hassler comes to Yardstick with over 20 years of executive talent acquisition and management advisory experience. She holds a J.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law, and her B.S. from Northern Illinois University. With her expertise in the corporate recruiting process and the role that bias plays within it, she will be in charge of developing effective ways to drive diversity in critical roles.
“The companies that truly get it, and that fundamentally know why diversity and inclusion matters, understand that they will lose in a competitive marketplace if they are not doggedly committed to leading from the front on this,” said Hassler. “It’s essential that they address these issues holistically, and accept that it starts from things as seemingly simple as how roles are described, to actions that undeniably demonstrate what the organization stands for at its core. This is where Yardstick is a game-changer, not only supporting clients with the fundamentals, including world-class experts guiding leaders in understanding and mitigating bias, but also with guidance through innovative ground-up and leadership-led changes.”
Hassler has worked with C-level executives in executive recruiting, talent management advisory, and internal operations and process improvements as a knowledge and practice management director. Most recently, her focus was on women in executive and board leadership, bringing visibility to the Rockefeller Foundation-sponsored Women CEOs Speak research and infusing insights into executive talent systems.
“Authenticity, transparency, courage, and powerful data will win at the end of the day, and these elements are at the core of how Yardstick Management operates. This is the perfect environment to leverage my skills around addressing biases in recruiting, development, and progression systems.”
Hassler’s ambition is to put people and their unique attributes to the forefront of the hiring process and break through the limitations of historical hiring methodologies and transactional approaches.
“We are elated to welcome Shannon into the Yardstick team,” said Ebbie Parsons, Yardstick Founder and Managing Partner. “She brings a jolt in inclusive executive search that complements our strategic work with clients.”
