Community to join together for a memorable day in the heart of Midtown Atlanta
WHAT: At the start of 2020, Colony Square launched its Wishing Trees initiative, inviting office workers, residents and guests to make a wish for the new year. Since mid-January, more than 400 wishes have been hanging in an artful display from the trees of The Grove on 14th Street.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, Colony Square will host several families from Make-A-Wish Georgia for a one-of-a-kind VIP experience. At noon, the children and their families will arrive at The Front Loop along Peachtree Street, decked out in crowns and superhero gear. The families will be welcomed by special Disney characters, a live drumline, the Chick-fil-A cow and loud cheers from the Colony Square and Midtown communities. Colony Square encourages all community members and tenants to come out and support these amazing families.
The drumline will guide the families to The Grove for a special celebration, complete with a catered lunch by Chick-fil-A under The Wishing Trees activation, music by DJ Willy Wow, face painting by Air Illustrations and more. During the lunch families will also have the opportunity to add their own wishes to The Wishing Trees, which will be on display through the end of February. For each wish received, Colony Square has pledged to donate $1 to Make-A-Wish Georgia.
Each participating vendor is donating their time and resources to bring this heartwarming activation to life. The Midtown community is encouraged to stop by and cheer on the Make-A-Wish children as they arrive at Colony Square, providing these families with an unforgettable wish come true.
