Celebrate Galentine’s Day at Avalon on Feb. 13

20+ retailers and restaurants celebrate the female friendship tradition that started with Parks and Rec’s Leslie Knope 10 years ago

On Thursday, Feb. 13, complimentary cocktails, exciting activations and retailer specials unite at Avalon, metro Atlanta’s top retail destination, for the second annual Galentine’s Day event. Dedicated to ladies celebrating ladies, gals are invited to visit the Alpharetta mixed-use community for an early Valentine’s Day soiree from 5 to 9 p.m. The first 300 guests to visit Concierge will receive a special Galentine’s Day treat.

“From wine specials at Branch & Barrel to meet-ups with the team behind EVEREVE, we’re hosting a Galentine’s Day that we think would make Leslie Knope proud,” said Lauren Ness, marketing manager at Avalon.

Ten years ago, Galentine’s Day was introduced as an opportunity to celebrate female friendship and has since become a pop culture phenomenon. This year, more than 20 of Avalon’s famed restaurants and retailers will participate in the holiday by offering exclusive discounts and in-store experiences during the event.

In addition to the retail offers, several activations will be hosted, including:

  • EVEREVE at Avalon – Visit The Hotel at Avalon for a special meet up with EVEREVE, the latest fashion retailer coming to Avalon. The event will feature lots of fun, fashion and great conversation about EVEREVE’s brand story from its co-founder and co-CEO.
  • JJs Flower Shop – Gals are invited to get their flower-power on and build their own bouquet with JJ's Flower Truck. Each ticket includes flower arranging, all materials, a vase and fabulous photo opportunities with the signature JJ's VW Flower Bus.
  • Pastry Shells – Craft the cutest cookies alongside your BFF by joining Pastry Shells for a Galentine's Day cookie decorating class from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The class includes cookies, supplies, a glass of wine and hands-on instruction.
  • Painting with a Twist Alpharetta – Create a custom canvas art alongside your gal pals from 6 to 7 p.m. Each ticket includes a 1-hour painting lesson, all materials and a complimentary glass of wine.
  • The Sipping Plant – Follow along while an instructor takes you through building your new terrarium using decorative mosses, rocks, specialty items and a wish stone. Each ticket includes all of the materials and decor items you'll need during the class.


In addition, Ketel One Botanical and Bailey’s Irish Cream will host a unique sampling experience for guests. Le Macaron will also offer their delicious macarons and specialty chocolates in Avalon’s Living Room, located between Café Intermezzo and Marine Layer.
