New York Life Real Estate Investors and WiredScore, the pioneer behind Wired Certification, the international standard for cutting-edge internet connectivity in office buildings, today announced Prominence in Buckhead as having achieved a Wired Certified Platinum designation.
The 433,000-square-foot Class A, office tower located at 3475 Piedmont Road NE in the heart of Buckhead joins the more than 2,000 Wired Certified buildings worldwide that offer top-notch tech capabilities. The 18-story building was acquired in December of 2018 by NYLREI on behalf of an institutional client.Since then upgrades have been planned at the property, including a full contemporary lobby renovation. Aileen Almassy and Andy Sumlin of Cushman & Wakefield are the leasing agents for the building.
Platinum Wired Certification represents the best-in-class standard of in-building connectivity, infrastructure, and readiness around the world. The designation is assigned upon review of the building’s technological infrastructure and readiness to adapt to emerging technologies. The Empire State Building, Willis Tower in Chicago, and the Shard in London are some of the other world-class properties that have achieved this recognition.
“Prominence in Buckhead stands outin the greater Atlanta office market and clearly demonstrates a commitment to enabling tenant productivity in its adherence to best-in-class connectivity standards,” said WiredScore CEO & Founder, Arie Barendrecht.
In pursuing Wired Certification, the property underwent a comprehensive certification process that evaluated the aspects of digital infrastructure that enable a seamless connectivity experience in which office tenants are able to stay online and maintain productivity levels.
Upon review of the project’s technical elements including internet service providers available to tenants, infrastructure redundancy, connection access points, and readiness to meet future tenant needs, a Wired Certification level is assigned based on the official standards developed by WiredScore and its connectivity advisory board with representatives from Google Fiber, Rudin Management, Arup, WSP / Parsons Brinckerhoff, and Zayo Group.
On-site amenities include a newly renovated fitness center, conference facility, chef-driven café, and abundant covered parking (2.5 spaces per 1,000 sf) provided by direct, covered access to the adjoining seven-level parking deck. Additionally, the building offers walkability to the Buckhead MARTA station and unparalleled access to Georgia 400, as well as a variety of amenities within a one-mile radius to more than 50 restaurants, 10 hotels, gas stations and grocery stores. The Energy Star building offers efficient 24,000-square-foot floorplates.
