Community invited to enjoy free lunchtime performances by Chelsea Shag, Cicada Rhythm and more
WHAT: This October, Midtown Alliance will host its 2019 Fall Lunchbox Entertainment Series in The Grove at Colony Square, a newly opened urban park in Midtown along the 14th Street corridor. Taking place on Wednesdays from October 2 to October 16, Midtown residents, office workers and passersby are invited to enjoy free lunchtime entertainment and celebrate Midtown’s identity as Atlanta’s heart of the arts from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunches to The Grove or can purchase a meal at one of Colony Square’s restaurants, which includes the brand-new Sukoshi, Chick-fil-A, 5Church Atlanta and Establishment. Exclusive for guests of the entertainment series, local favorite 5Church Atlanta will offer delicious pre-packaged lunches that can be ordered online here in advance of the events and picked up in The Grove. The performers and corresponding dates are outlined below:
- Wednesday, Oct. 2, Whole World Improv Theatre – the flagship for Improv comedy in Atlanta will perform customized, hilarious acts
- Wednesday, Oct. 9, Chelsea Shag – a songstress with sultry vocals known for her ability to turn classic soul sounds into something big, bright, and punchy
- Wednesday, Oct. 16, Cicada Rhythm – a talented, Athens-based duo that modernizes classic folk music with their rejuvenating sounds
