Chamberlain Hrdlicka to Host Tax Forum Comparing Opportunity Zones With 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges

Chamberlain Hrdlicka will host a Tax Forum on Wednesday, July 10 at Cobb Galleria from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. EST. The event is open to the public, and breakfast will be included. The program, “Opportunities v. Exchanges – Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe…,” will provide an overview of Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZs) with a comparison to 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges to assist advisors in making the best recommendations for their clients. Anyone with an interest in learning more about QOZs and how they differ from 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges to better advise their clients is welcome to attend. During the forum, Chamberlain Hrdlicka Shareholders Stephanie Friese (Aron) and Christopher Steele will break down Opportunity Zones and their benefits for investors and the surrounding communities, while analyzing just how they compare to 1031 Exchanges in terms of tax liability, benefits and more. Friese has handled a variety of commercial real estate matters, from acquisition of land, to leasing, construction, financing and disposition. Steele is a member of the firm’s Trust & Estates Practice Group, where he handles matters including tax and estate planning, asset protection planning and the administration of complex trust and estates.

The Tax Forum is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. Pre-registration for “Opportunities v. Exchanges – Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe…,” is $45. Walk-in registration is $55. Breakfast is included. Certified public accountants will receive two hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credits for attending the forum.
