Steve Rowley
Will Oversee Georgia and Virginia Portfolios
Steve Rowley, who has served as Market Leader for Liberty Property Trust in Georgia since 2014, has been promoted to the role of Market Officer and will expand his role to oversee operations of the company’s Richmond and Virginia Beach, Virginia portfolios. In total, he will manage a portfolio that includes nearly eight million square feet of space across more than 50 buildings.
Rowley assumes the role from Massie Flippin, who has been promoted to Regional Director, overseeing the company’s eastern region, which encompasses most holdings from New Jersey to Georgia.
“Since joining Liberty in 2011, Steve has helped to grow Liberty in all he has undertaken, first through leasing Florida and then by establishing and cultivating our Atlanta presence,” said Flippin. “His understanding of every aspect of commercial real estate coupled with his ability to make each customer feel valued will be very beneficial as we continue to expand these portfolios.”
Rowley joined Liberty’s South Florida office in 2011 and was promoted to director of leasing in 2013. During this time, he successfully negotiated more than 110 industrial and office transactions (totaling approximately 1.75 million square feet) and raised the company’s overall portfolio occupancy in the region from 87% to 91%. Rowley also assisted in the development of Liberty’s 126-acre Miami International Tradeport project.
In 2014, Rowley was again promoted to Market Leader, responsible for the Atlanta portfolio. He has grown the portfolio by both development and acquisition to 20 buildings offering more than 3.5 million square feet of space. Of late, he has brought Liberty Commerce Center, an 840,000 square foot development in Butts County, Ga. to market, and redeveloped a 247,000 square foot building at 875 Maxham Road in Lithia Springs, Ga., which is fully leased.
Rowley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University. He is a member of NAIOP Georgia Chapter, SIOR Georgia Chapter and CSCMP.
Liberty currently owns 20 buildings with a total of 3.5 million square feet of space in Atlanta, across the Northeast, Northwest, South Atlanta/Airport and Fulton Industrial submarkets. In Virginia, the company owns 3.8 million square feet across 27 buildings in Richmond and four buildings with 650,000 square feet in Hampton Roads.
