5/15/19

DLA Piper recently and concurrently represented Atlanta-based startups SalesLoft, FullStory and EvidentID in three of the city's largest venture capital transactions to date in 2019, reflective of the firm's role as the leading legal advisor for venture capital transactions in the Southeast US.

DLA Piper ranked first in a list of most active US venture capital firms in the Southeast and second in a list of most active US private equity firms in the Southeast in PitchBook's 2018 global league tables report.

Each of the advisory teams for the three transactions were led by partner Jeffrey Leavitt (Atlanta), and included broad support from attorneys across DLA Piper's global platform and within multiple disciplines, including attorneys in European and Asian offices. Primary corporate associates on the deals included Puja Vadodaria, JJ Gotlieb, Mario Bolaños and Michelle Marchiony, all based in Atlanta.

The transactions are summarized as:

SalesLoft's raise of US$70 million in a financing led by Insight Partners with participation from HarbourVest Partners and Knoll Ventures

FullStory's raise of US$32 million in a financing led by Stripes with participation from Dell Technologies Capital, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Kleiner Perkins and Salesforce Ventures

EvidentID's raise of US$20 million in a financing led by Aspect Ventures with participation from NEA, Blue Cloud Ventures and ISS founder Tom Noonan

"Jeff and his team provided world-class support and guidance through every aspect of a complex multi-party transaction, as they have every step of the way since FullStory's inception five years ago," said Scott Voigt, CEO of FullStory.

Kyle Porter, CEO of SalesLoft, said, "DLA has been a great partner for SalesLoft. They managed our financing with exceptional professionalism and efficiency, and provide unique support for our fast-growing global expansion."

"DLA Piper is proud to be part of the team for such exciting, fast-growing companies," said Leavitt, who runs the Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice for the Southeast out of DLA Piper's Atlanta office. "We look forward to their continued development as they expand their respective customer bases both in the US and globally."
