Carter, one of the country’s most active real estate investment, development and advisory firms, today announced Kendall Golightly has been promoted to vice president.

Since joining the firm in 2013, Golightly has fulfilled numerous roles on Carter’s program management and development team for some of the most complex and diverse projects in its portfolio. Golightly has traveled the country to oversee several developments, including Valencia Condominiums in Jacksonville, Fla.; a University of Texas at San Antonio student housing project; a City of Enid, Okla. Bond project; and Sandy Springs City Center.

Golightly currently leads design and construction efforts for Carter’s various projects throughout Atlanta’s Southside, including the MET, a 1.1-million-square-foot adaptive reuse project, the At-Promise Youth Center and Georgia Avenue. Moving forward, he will continue managing the completion of the Georgia Avenue redevelopment and will oversee the construction of Carter’s grocery-anchored, mixed-use community in Summerhill.

“Kendall continues to bring value to our team, time and again, through his ability to wear many hats and push projects across the finish line,” said Scott Taylor, president and CEO of Carter. “Kendall has established himself as a true problem solver, and his dedication to building strong and lasting relationships has helped him excel personally and professionally, making him well-deserving of this promotion.”

Prior to working for Carter, Golightly worked in a variety of management roles for real estate developers in Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Tampa, Aspen and Mexico. Golightly also worked in disaster relief as the senior project manager on the BP Horizon Oil Spill. Throughout his career, Golightly has gained hands-on experience in the hotel, multifamily and mixed-use sectors.
