For the fifth consecutive year, Avalon, Alpharetta’s award-winning mixed-use community, has announced the return of its Signature Events Series, including fan favorites Punchline Comedy Nights, Little Acorns, AvalOM and Avalon Nights Live. The 2019 season kicks off on April 1 in The Plaza with Punchline Comedy Nights and will continue through October.
“With spring in full bloom, we’re thrilled to welcome Avaloniacs back to The Boulevard for our fifth Signature Events season,” said Cayley Mullen, marketing and hospitality manager at Avalon. “Avalon is the perfect destination for families and friends to make memories and establish new traditions, and we can’t wait to once again activate The Boulevard with weekly, energized happenings.”
Avalon’s Signature Events are free and open to the public. Details about each event are outlined below:
- The Punchline Comedy Night at Avalon: On the first Monday of each month, laugh out loud with The Punchline’s live comedy acts. Punchline Comedy Nights kicks off April 1 at 7:30 p.m. with headliner Bone Hampton, an experienced comedian known for various appearances on ABC’s The View and other sitcoms. Performances last approximately 90 minutes and are recommended for guests ages 13 and older. During each show, Oak Steakhouse and Colletta will offer food and drink specials. **The April and May shows will be held in The Plaza adjacent to Concierge, and beginning June 3, Punchline will resume in its traditional Palmer Plaza location (between Oak Steakhouse and Colletta).
- Little Acorns: Every Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to noon, parents and caregivers are invited to bring their pre-school aged tots for free playtime fun in The Plaza. Weekly surprises will range from face painting to exciting storytellers, as well as visits from favorite characters and more. This event begins on April 2 and lasts through Oct. 29.
- AvalOM: Yogis are invited to “namaste” at Avalon for yoga in The Plazaevery Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. to salute the sun. Each 60-minute class will feature yoga, Pilates and barre-less barre practices led by expert instructors from Club Pilates, Athleta, Flywheel Sports and lululemon. AvalOM begins April 3 with an exciting class led by four of Avalon’s fitness retailers and will also feature a live DJ. AvalOM’s final class of the season will be held on Oct. 30. AvalOM attendees are encouraged to bring their own mat.
- Avalon Nights Live: After a hectic work week, families and friends of all ages are invited to sit back, relax and enjoy live music in The Plaza every Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Avalon Nights Live begins April 5 with a performance by The Mike Veal Band and lasts through Oct. 25.
