Revamp includes addition of fitness center and upgrades to conference facility and building lobbies

Peachtree Center, Downtown Atlanta’s iconic mixed-use development, announced today it will begin major renovations of its two Marquis office towers. The overhaul will include the addition of a state-of-the-art fitness center as well as upgrades to the towers’ conference facility and two office lobbies. The renovations to Marquis One and Marquis Two will be complete before the end of the year.

Plans are also underway to revitalize the outdoor spaces for both towers with park-like settings and a living room experience, with more details to be revealed later this year.

The 28-story towers offer boutique and large office spaces to accommodate a mix of tenants, including recently-announced Habitat for Humanity, SunTrust, Smith, Currie & Hancock, Georgia Regional Transportation Authorityand State Road and Tollway Authority. The Marquis Towers stand apart with floor-to-ceiling windows and reserved parking directly beneath the building, as well as a seamless connection to MARTA.

“Marquis Towers possess everything a tenant could want just outside its doors, with the reimagined The Hub, transit options and the vibrancy of Downtown,” said Deming Fish, senior vice president at Colliers Atlanta, who leases Marquis Towers. “Now, it’s time to turn to the spaces within the towers specifically dedicated to ensuring our tenants have a pleasant workday. We’re excited to further connect this community and encourage productivity with these updates.”

The fitness center will have a modern aesthetic, separate yoga and spin studios, “Fitness on Demand” services, men’s and women’s locker rooms as well as a resting area complete with “Grab n Go” refreshment offerings and a countertop bar.

To enhance tenants’ workday experiences, the new conference center will feature a training room, a board room and semi-private breakout niches. There will also be a lounge area with seating and video displays for hosted events and a catering kitchen. The revamped office lobbies will incorporate a contemporary design as well as a gaming area complete with pool tables, shuffleboard and beverage counter.

Lastly, the façade of the Marquis Towers will also receive a facelift, including greenery to offer seasonal color, soften the streetscape and focus visitor’s attention on the new entry façades. An artful entry “portal” will surround the front doors and visually open up the front of the buildings.

Banyan Street Capital will continue its partnership with Living Walls and International Corporate Art, which recently brought mural “Symphony” from street artist Hopare to Peachtree Center, to bring art into the lobbies and infuse color and energy into these spaces.

“With a growing roster of A-list tenants and the forthcoming completion of our renovation of The Hub, it’s the perfect time to enhance these iconic towers with amenities that today’s workforce demand,” said Rudy Touzet, CEO of Banyan Street Capital, who owns and manages Peachtree Center and the Marquis Towers. “Banyan is proud to be investing in the future of Downtown Atlanta by reinventing Peachtree Center and Marquis Towers.”

In addition to the Marquis Tower renovations, Peachtree Center is approaching a spring 2019 completion of the massive redevelopment of its public spaces and three-tier retail center known as The Hub, adding new eateries and experiences and modernizing its design. The renovated community will enhance the experience offered to Peachtree Center’s office tenants, which already includes seamless transit access and proximity to over 50 restaurants and shops.
