Routematch Announces Charity Partnership with Variety Pittsburgh

8/22/18

ATLANTA, Aug. 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Routematch has partnered with Variety Pittsburgh to provide children with physical limitations the ability to live life to the fullest with a focus on mobility, communication, and social inclusion.

At the 2018 CTAA Expo June 10 – June 14 in Pittsburgh, PA, attendees visited the Routematch tradeshow booth to make $10 donations by purchasing transit-oriented t-shirts. All proceeds went towards an adaptable bike for a child with disabilities. One bike is $1,800 to sponsor. With the help of donors, Routematch raised $1900.

“Variety was thrilled to partner with Routematch on their recent tradeshow, and it is organizations like Routematch that make Variety’s work possible for kids with disabilities throughout P.A. and West Virginia,” said Zachary Marsh, Community Relations Manager at Variety.

An adaptive bike helps to make riding a bike possible for children who may not otherwise be able to ride a typical two-wheeled bike. These individually customized adaptive bikes are oftentimes too costly for families to purchase on their own. Through denotations, Variety makes it possible for kids to be kids – giving them their independence back with safe, custom made bikes.

Variety launched its ”My Bike” Program in November of 2012. Since the program launched, more than 1,600 bikes have been sponsored for eligible children.

“Routematch is honored to partner with Variety Pittsburgh and support an organization committed to enabling mobility and social inclusion for kids with disabilities,” said Melissa Vidakovic, Routematch Director of Marketing. “We are thrilled to have brought awareness to the great work Variety is doing and engage our community of transit nerds in exceeding our goal to raise money for an adaptive bike."

Routematch’s mission is to develop human solutions that focus on real people and impact the quality of life for those individuals and communities through flexible and scalable tech tools that connect agencies to their futures and riders to their opportunities. Its transit technology solutions range from Demand Response and Fixed Route to Payments, Mobility On-Demand, Apps for Riders and Mobile Ticketing.
