Atlantans invited to nominate a local woman to be honored on The Ellis Hotel’s Women’s Only Floor
The Ellis Hotel, downtown Atlanta's only boutique and independent hotel, is launching a search to find Georgia women to honor on its Women's Only Floor. Atlantans can nominate -- and then vote for -- a Georgia woman who has made a significant contribution to empowering other women -- whether it’s by setting an amazing example, or by directly supporting women around them.
The Ellis will dedicate a room on its Women’s Only Floor to each of the ten women who accrue the most votes. In honor of the winners, a framed bio will hang in the rooms to represent each woman’s life and their diverse experiences that led them to play an influential role in the lives of others.
The Ellis Hotel's Women's Only Floor was designed to celebrate women, and features art from Atlanta nonprofit The Chelko Foundation (which seeks to empower women through art).
"As the next evolution on our Women's Only Floor, we want to use this space as a platform to increase awareness about local women who are empowering and inspiring others and celebrate their efforts," said Tom LaVaccare, director of sales and marketing at the Ellis Hotel. "We're looking to Atlantans to tell us who those women are, and their stories, so we can honor them and empower our female visitors who stay on our women’s only floor.”
To nominate your favorite remarkable Georgia woman, visit the Ellis Hotel’sFacebook page and share a few words (up to 500) by Aug. 31about what makes your nomination a great candidate for this recognition. Voting will take place from Sept. 1-14, with winners announced during the week of September 24.
The Women’s Only Floor is a private-access floor reserved for female travelers only and designed to celebrate women the moment they step onto the floor. Upon arrival, guests receive an Ellis cosmetics bag full of lavish L'Occitane conveniences including a effervescent bath salts, moisturizing hand crème, gentle face cream, soothing eye patches, a refreshing cleansing cloth, lavender pillow mist, ultra-rich lip balm, a seven-inch nail file and a pocket mirror.
