Burns Parker and Lyle McKinney join the 100-year-old insurance firm

Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance, ranked one of the top 50 property/casualty agencies in the U.S. by Insurance Journal, announced today it has hired Burns Parker and Lyle McKinney as vice presidents at the firm’s Birmingham office, which opened its doors in August 2017. Parker and McKinney join the firm from Birmingham’s McGriff, Siebels & Williams (MSW), a wholly owned subsidiary of BB&T Insurance Holdings, Inc.

At MSW, Parker and McKinney both served in production roles in the commercial accounts division where their focus was to generate new business with national accounts and upper middle-market organizationsin the real estate, construction, oil andgas, hospitality and manufacturing/distribution industries.

Parker’s previous experience includes time in Atlanta asan assistant vice president withWillis North America. There,he worked with publicly traded and large privately held commercial organizations and financial institutions. He has also worked as a broker with ARC Excess & Surplus as well as an underwriter withThe Travelers Companies. An Alabama native, Parker earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University in 2007.

Prior to his time at MSW, McKinney, a Birmingham native, was a producer with Wells Fargo Insurance Services in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he also previously served as a wholesale broker at McAuley, Woods & Associates. McKinney earned his bachelor’s degree in 2007 from the University of Mississippi, where he majored in insurance and risk management.
