Christie’s International Real Estate and its Atlanta Affiliate, Harry Norman, REALTORS®, welcomed guests to a stunning European-style estate in the enclave of Buckhead for an exclusive lecture, “The Rockefellers: Art and Philanthropy, A Family Legacy.” Christie’s specialists detailed highlights from the upcoming auctions at New York’s Rockefeller Center. The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller features a vast array of artwork that could fetch more than $500 million for charity when it goes to auction May 8-11. VistaJet and J.P. Morgan also sponsored the event.

The Rockefeller auction will benefit a number of charities, including educational, medical, cultural and environmental organizations. Hundreds of works of art will be sold, including a Monet water lilies painting expected to fetch between $50 million and $70 million and Picasso’s “Fillette à la corbeille fleurie” (Young Girl with a Flower Basket), which is estimated to sell for at least $100 million.
Christie’s specialists Tylee Abbott from American Art and Vanessa Fusco from the Impressionist and Modern Art department offered insights into the collection curated by David Rockefeller and his wife Peggy. The Christie’s specialists also provided insights about building one’s own personal art collection.
