Atlantic Station’s Signature Events Series Returns in April

Celebrate warmer weather with Signature Events at Atlanta’s premier in-town destination starting this spring

Kick off spring’s arrival with Atlantic Station’s 2018 Signature Events lineup, including Tot Spot, Art in the Park, Wellness Wednesday, Improv in the Park, Movies in Central Park and Makers Market.

“We are thrilled to kick off this season’s Signature Events with the classic offerings that Atlanta loves, as well as new events for all ages,” said Daniel Easton, Atlantic Station’s marketing director. “Our signature events are carefully curated to reflect Atlantic Station’s values of community, health and wellness and family involvement. We look forward to launching our seventh season of events and further enhancing our neighborhood.”

Most of the events will take place in Atlantic Station’s Central Park. All events are open to the public and free, unless otherwise noted. Central Park signature events are scheduled through July 19 - leading up to the return of the BB&T Atlanta Open. More details about each event are below:

  • Maker’s Market: Maker’s Market will feature local vendors in Central Park every Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will be able to support the work of the city’s entrepreneurs and shop for handcrafted jewelry, beautiful art, one-of-a-kind home décor and other local goods.The Makers will vary from weekend to weekend, so be sure to visit often. Maker’s Market begins on March 31.
  • Tot Spot: Each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon, Central Park will be completely devoted to this fun event where kids get to be kids! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring their pre-school aged children to Atlantic Station for a morning filled with adventure. Weekly surprises include storytellers, face painting and visitors from the local community like those hosted in past seasons: Zoo Atlanta and the Center for Puppetry Arts. Tot Spot begins on April 3.
  • Wellness Wednesday: Every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Atlantic Station, Athleta Atlantic Station and Evolation Yoga team up for a weekly yoga class. Grab your mat and head to Central Park for an hour of refreshing stretches designed to help you relax and find peace during your hectic work week. New this season – pick up a Namaste Card at check-in and earn rewards for attending classes! Wellness Wednesday begins on April 4.
  • Improv in the Park: Atlantic Station is proud to partner with the Whole World Improv Theatre for a summer of laughs. The show kicks off April 3 and is scheduled the first Wednesday of each month at 8 p.m. in Central Park.
  • Art at the Station: Grab your friends and head to Atlantic Station’s Central Park for Art at the Station the first Sunday of every month. PaintNite will teach a step-by-step painting class that’s sure to leave you with a painting worthy of Picasso’s approval. This event is for adults 21 and older. Tickets can be purchased in advance and prices depend on the painting selected for each class. Walk-ups are welcome, as long as space is available. Each ticket includes painting supplies and two drink tickets which can be redeemed for beer or wine. The next Art at the Station will be on April 8.   • Movies in Central Park: Nothing says summertime like watching your favorite movies under the stars in the glow of Atlanta’s skyline. The 2018 season of Movies in Central Park will feature “The Best of a Decade,” and highlight films from the 2000s. Movies in Central Park begins on May 17 and lasts through the end of July. This season, don’t miss two other Movies in Central Park with a special spring break screening of “Guardians of the Galaxy” on Friday, April 6 and a special Mother’s Day screening of “Freaky Friday” on Saturday, May 12. All films will begin promptly at dusk.
