The Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association (GHLA) has presented Ron Tarson, general manager of The Westin Peachtree Plaza, with this year’s Volunteer of the Year Award.

Each year the award is given to an industry champion who is fully committed to the GHLA’s mission and who serves selflessly to help the organization reach its goals. As chair of the GHLA Governmental Affairs Committee, Ron has provided a steady, guiding hand through challenging tasks over the past three years. Throughout his time as chair, he has been patient, thoughtful, and ever vigilant in studying proposed legislation, attending numerous meetings, and much more.
