NexDefense Adds Matt Morris to its Executive Team

2/9/17

NexDefense (www.nexdefense.com), a leading industrial cyber security software provider, today announces Matt Morris has joined its executive team as Vice President of Product and Strategy. In this role, Morris will lead all product management activities and direct the team in defining future strategic development and investment initiatives.

"Matt brings an unparalleled breadth and depth of industry knowledge. Our team needed better strategic clarity, and Matt brings that to us in spades," notes Jeff Spence, CEO of NexDefense.

Morris comes to NexDefense from Cisco Systems, where he served as Global Head of IoT and Industrial Cyber Security, and led strategy, go-to-market and roadmap for their industrial IoT (IIoT) business. There, Morris founded and led its Industrial cyber security solution and services and developed partnerships with many industrial cyber security players. In addition, he worked directly in more than a hundred sales engagements within industrial IoT and cyber security.

“Over the last several years, it’s become increasingly clear to me that vendors are only solving a small piece of the puzzle, and usually are not properly aligned with customer needs and realities,” notes Morris. “At NexDefense, we’re laser-focused on solving problems important to our customers’ business and bottom line.”

"Matt has more first-hand sales experience and context than maybe anyone in the industry, and he's already helped shape the NexDefense solution to better meet the needs of our customers and the broader industrial market as a whole," adds Spence.

Prior to joining Cisco Systems, Morris led Software and Cyber Security for Landis+Gyr. Morris is a graduate of Kennesaw State University and earned his MBA from Emory University's Goizeta Business School.
