Pop-Up Retail Concept “Peachtree Marketplace” Opens at Peachtree Center

11/21/16

Downtown Atlanta’s Peachtree Center has unveiled Peachtree Marketplace, a pop-up retail concept in the mall area of the mixed-use property, beginning in early November. Peachtree Marketplace includes four retailers – Baker Dude Cupcakes, Southern Candy Company, Qwik 2 Fix Smartphone Repair & Accessories and Flame of Life – all of which have a history at Peachtree Center.

“We’re excited for Peachtree Marketplace to bring pop-ups – one of the most promising trends in retail today – to heavily-trafficked Peachtree Center in time for the holidays,” said CBRE’s Amy Fingerhut, who worked with Sara Pepper to create the marketplace. “As Peachtree Center prepares to undergo a revitalization and remerchandising, Peachtree Marketplace gives us a chance to incubate concepts and provide a fresh new retail option in bustling downtown.”

Baker Dude Cupcakes and Southern Candy Company are both vendors from the Peachtree Center Green Market, a weekly urban farmers market that takes place at the property from April to October. Southern Candy Company is relocating its retail store from Underground Atlanta. Peachtree Marketplace will give the local confectioners an opportunity to further integrate themselves into the Peachtree Center community and provide an option for guests and office workers for holiday treats. Qwik 2 Fix Smartphone Repair & Accessories and Flame of Life, an aromatherapy retailer, are former Peachtree Center kiosks that have served guests at the property for years.

"The Southern Candy Company is thrilled to be one of the new tenants at Peachtree Marketplace,” said Samuel Beraki, manager at Southern Candy Company. “We are a family business, making homemade candies since 1989, and we can’t wait to bring our fabulous fudge, yummy pecan pralines and other delicious treats to the heart of downtown."

Peachtree Marketplace will be open during Peachtree Center’s normal retail center hours. For more information on Peachtree Center, visit peachtreecenter.com or facebook.com/peachtreecenter.

About Peachtree Center

Peachtree Center, developed by renowned architect John Portman, is an office, retail and dining destination in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Comprised of six high-rise buildings, Peachtree Center is centrally located over a MARTA station and adjacent to three hotels accessible by pedestrian bridges. Miami-based Banyan Street Capital recapitalized Peachtree Center in 2014 after a nine-year association with the property, and David Horne, Mike Werner and Kay Younglove with JLL’s Atlanta office lease the project’s more than two million square feet of office space. Amy Fingerhut and Sara Pepper of CBRE handle leasing of the retail center. For more information, visit peachtreecenter.com.
