11/21/16

Chamberlain Hrdlicka announces the addition of two Atlanta-based attorneys to the firm’s Tax practice. Steve Wyatt joins as special counsel, and C. Reid Barrineau joins as an associate. Their arrival continues the firm’s growth in the Atlanta office, which added Mary-Claire Smith to the Labor and Employment practice last month.

Wyatt, who is joining the firm’s Tax Controversy group, has focused his practice in the areas of wealth and asset protection, business succession planning and the use of partnerships and LLCs. He counsels clients on the purchase and sale of family businesses, and oversees the preparatory work for optimizing tax consequences with various sales transactions. Active in the community, Wyatt is a past board member at Caring Days, Inc., an organization that provides a day program for adults with Alzheimer's and other memory disorders, and is a past president of the Tuscaloosa, Alabama Estate Planning Council.

Wyatt received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Alabama, and his master of laws in taxation from New York University.

Barrineau focuses his practice on a wide range of business, tax and planning matters, including trusts and estates, business formation and planning and asset protection. He counsels clients regarding the impact of federal and state taxes on a variety of transactions. In addition, Barrineau advises nonprofit organizations regarding formation, governance and applications for tax-exempt status.

Barrineau earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, his law degree from the University of Mississippi and his master of laws in taxation from the University of Florida.
