Oracle Applications Users Group Appoints Al Garver as Executive Director

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG), an independent, global, member-led organization that maximizes customers’ investment in Oracle and partner solutions, announced Al Garver has been appointed as its new executive director.

In this position, Garver will advise and assist the board of directors on matters of strategy, objectives, goals and policies to ensure that all operational, financial and member-experience initiatives are successfully executed. This includes leadership responsibilities over all third-party service providers and members of OAUG staff.

Garver has over 25 years of experience in strategic planning, membership development, leadership, business development, fundraising and event management. He previously served as executive director of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard (EANGUS) and most recently as president of the Synthetic Turf Council. He also has earned the title of Certified Association Executive (CAE), the highest professional credential in the association industry.

Garver received his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his bachelor of science in small city and rural county management from Eastern Oregon University. He is a military veteran who currently serves as the State Command Chief of the DC Air National Guard.
