Barnes & Thornburg LLP has added seven new attorneys in the Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis and Los Angeles offices. They are working in various capacities to serve clients’ legal needs. The new attorneys are: 

Atlanta

•   Lori C. Bibb is of counsel and a member of the Corporate Department. She concentrates her practice on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture capital investments, joint ventures, complex business transactions and securities offerings. With more than 15 years of experience, Bibb also advises clients on corporate governance matters, as well as periodic filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and compliance with NYSE and NASDAQ listing requirements.

Chicago

•  Genevieve E. Charlton is an associate. As a member of the Intellectual Property Department, she focuses her practice on trademark, trade dress, domain name and copyright law. Charlton’s experience includes developing and implementing global trademark filing strategies; counseling clients on brand creation and protection; and litigating intellectual property matters in federal district courts and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
• Zachary Heller is an associate in the Litigation Department. Heller focuses his practice on complex litigation involving medical devices and pharmaceuticals. His experience includes defending a major pharmaceutical company in several complex litigation matters, representing a Latin American automotive company in a contract dispute regarding manufacturing rights and representing a pet food company in false advertising litigation.

Indianapolis

•  Douglas W. Everette is of counsel and a member of the Corporate Department and the Energy, Telecommunications and Utilities Practice Group. With more than 15 years of experience, Everette concentrates his practice on the representation of investor-owned utilities, independent power producers, renewable resources, municipalities, cooperatives, power marketers, industrials and power project developers on the energy regulatory aspects for the financing, development, acquisition and disposition of energy assets. His practice also focuses on representing telecommunications providers on transactional and regulatory matters and providing counsel respecting Dodd-Frank Act compliance for electric utilities, cooperatives and power marketers.
•  Yonghao Hou is of counsel and a member of the Intellectual Property Department. She concentrates her practice on the preparation and prosecution of patents in the pharma/biotech field in the U.S. and foreign countries, and on the maintenance of large active docket for various clients ranging from major corporations to startups, institutions and universities. Hou also focuses on international scope patent procurement, due diligence research and analysis, multinational business transactions and multiparty complex licensing.

Los Angeles

• Minal Khan is a staff attorney in the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. Khan focuses her practice on employment discrimination, contracts, pension and employee benefits, and business associations. Khan has experience representing clients in disability discrimination and wrongful termination disputes and with drafting memoranda on new wage and hour laws, paid sick leave and vacation policies.
