HREC Investment Advisors is pleased to announce that veteran hotel development and transaction advisor Tom Huegel has joined HREC as a Senior Vice President in the Atlanta office.

Prior to joining HREC, Tom was a partner with Hotel Assets Group in Atlanta from 2008 forward with a focus primarily on Upscale and Upper Upscale branded transactions in the SE Region, where he was responsible for closing deals with over $400 million in asset value. Prior to joining Hotel Assets Group, he was Sr. Director of Franchise Development for Hilton Worldwide for nearly 12 years handling the franchising of all Hilton brands in the SE Region. Prior to franchising with Hilton, Tom was the Sr. Director of Development for Hilton Gaming (subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corp.) charged with sourcing and underwriting new casino development opportunities in the U.S. and Internationally. Prior to Hilton, Tom held development positions with both Holiday Corporation and Promus Hotel Corporation in Memphis, TN. and began his career in the Management Advisory Services division of Laventhol & Horwath, which at the time was the industry’s leading consulting firm in the realm of hospitality.
